The Story Behind the Site

About Home Golf Hero

Making home golf accessible, affordable, and actually fun to set up. No gatekeeping, no $20k setups required.

Our Mission

Home golf is going through a revolution. What used to require $20,000, a dedicated room, and a PhD in AV installation can now be done for a few thousand bucks in your garage. The hardware is getting better and cheaper. The software is getting smarter. And with AI entering the picture, the pace is only accelerating.

But here's the problem: nobody is explaining this to regular people. The existing golf simulator websites are either selling you something, gatekeeping their knowledge, or writing for an audience that already owns a $15,000 TrackMan.

Home Golf Hero exists to change that. We're here to be the friend who already did the research — the one who tells you which launch monitor is actually worth it, how much space you really need, and whether you can get away with a $500 setup instead of a $5,000 one.

Who We Are

We're everyday golfers who got tired of the gatekeeping in the home golf world. We've analyzed thousands of owner reports, forum threads, and spec sheets to build the most comprehensive home golf simulator resource on the web. We've studied setups in garages, basements, and spare bedrooms to understand what actually works. We've filtered the noise so you don't have to.

We're not sponsored by any brand. We're not golf pros. We're just dudes who like golf, like tech, and believe that the best home golf setup is the one that fits your budget and your space — not the one some influencer tells you to buy.

What We Believe

  • Golf shouldn't require a country club membership. The technology exists to bring the course to your home. We help you navigate it.
  • Information should be free and accessible. No paywalls, no "premium content," no gatekeeping. If we know it, you know it.
  • Budget matters. Not everyone has $10k to drop on a simulator. We cover everything from $200 nets to $10,000+ full setups.
  • The industry is moving fast. AI, computer vision, and cheaper sensors are changing everything. We track it so you don't have to.
  • Honesty over affiliate revenue. Yes, we earn commissions when you buy through our links. No, we won't recommend garbage just because it pays well. Our reputation is worth more than any commission check.

How We Make Money

Home Golf Hero is reader-supported. When you buy products through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission at no extra cost to you. This keeps the lights on and lets us keep producing free content. We also may display advertising in the future. But our editorial content will always be independent — we never let advertisers influence our reviews or recommendations.

What Drives Us

Accessible

We break down complex topics into plain English. No jargon, no gatekeeping.

Budget-First

Every recommendation considers price. We celebrate the $500 setup as much as the $10k one.

Forward-Looking

We track where the tech is going, not just where it's been. AI is changing everything.
