The Garmin ecosystem is not perfect. The practice session data lives in the Garmin Golf mobile app, not on the Garmin Connect website. Camera-based systems are the superior indoor tool — and if you are purely optimizing for sim quality, not ecosystem breadth, the camera route is the better call.

The middle path is the R10 at $499 if you just want to dip a toe in. At $499 for the R10 plus $150 for a net and $50 for a mat, you’re in for roughly $700 — well under the $1,000 mark that most people assume is impossible for a real sim setup. (That $20,000 figure you’ve heard? It’s from 2018. The entry point today is $500, not twenty grand.) The ecosystem is compelling enough that the R10 is the smartest entry point in home golf — not because it’s the most accurate launch monitor, but because it opens the door to the only practice-to-play feedback loop that actually exists. If you love it, add the watch later. If you outgrow it, you’ve lost almost nothing relative to sim golf’s usual depreciation.
