Revelyst Buys GolfLogix: Building the Golf Tech Stack

Revelyst just bought the most complete golf course data library on the planet — and they're going to plug it directly into every Foresight and Bushnell product they sell.

The short answer

Revelyst acquired GolfLogix — 40,000+ course GPS mapping — days after. launching its golf tech platform. Course data ties into the sim ecosystem.

Revelyst Buys GolfLogix: Building the Golf Tech Stack

Revelyst just made its first acquisition as a unified golf tech platform — and they bought a mapping company, not a hardware brand. See our connected golf ecosystem wars analysis for the broader industry picture and how this fits into the larger trend of golf tech consolidation.

Three days after unveiling Revelyst Golf Technology as the umbrella for Foresight Sports, Bushnell Golf, and PinSeeker, the company announced it has acquired GolfLogix from 8AM Golf. The deal closed July 9. Terms weren’t disclosed.

GolfLogix is the oldest and most established GPS course mapping company in golf. Founded in 1999, they were the first to bring handheld GPS to the sport. The app has been downloaded over 7 million times and maps more than 40,000 courses worldwide, including enhanced GreenBooks for 15,000 courses. Their recent 3D virtual reality course mapping, released in April 2025, is the first of its kind in a golf GPS app.

That’s the polite press release language. What it actually means is: Revelyst just bought the most complete golf course data library on the planet, and they’re going to plug it directly into every Foresight and Bushnell product they sell. For more on how this fits into the larger trend of golf tech consolidation, see our connected golf ecosystem wars analysis and launch monitor walled garden analysis.

The Acquisition in Context

This is not a random purchase. Look at the timing:

July 11 — Revelyst announces Revelyst Golf Technology, positioning Foresight, Bushnell, and PinSeeker as a unified platform.

July 14 — Revelyst announces GolfLogix acquisition, adding 40,000+ mapped courses and 7 million app users to that platform.

That’s not a coincidence. The GolfLogix deal was closing on July 9 — it was happening before the platform announcement. Revelyst knew exactly what they were building when they unfurled that flag.

GolfLogix co-founders Scott Lambrecht (CEO) and Pete Charleston (President) are both staying on post-acquisition. The Scottsdale office becomes a digital studio for Revelyst Golf Technology.

Why This Matters for Home Sim Buyers

GolfLogix isn’t a launch monitor company. It’s not a sim software company. It’s a course data company — and that data is about to show up everywhere in the Revelyst ecosystem.

Here’s what this enables:

Bushnell GPS devices get every course, mapped. Bushnell makes rangefinders and the Bushnell Golf app. GolfLogix has 40,000+ professionally mapped courses. Put them together and you get the most accurate on-course GPS experience available, with no third-party data licensing required.

FSX simulation courses get real-world elevation data. Right now, sim courses in FSX Play are rendered from satellite data and course flyovers. GolfLogix has professional ground-level mapping with elevation, undulation, and green contours. That data feeds directly into Foresight’s simulation engine for more accurate virtual course renditions.

The Launch Pro ecosystem gets a continuous on-course feedback loop. Here’s the endgame: you hit balls on your Bushnell Launch Pro at home, your data flows into the Revelyst ecosystem, you take that same profile to the course via Bushnell GPS + GolfLogix maps, and your real-world performance data feeds back into your home practice. That’s the “connected ecosystem” Nyman keeps talking about.

Third-party threat to GSPro and E6. This is the darker take. GolfLogix’s 3D course data can be used to build simulation courses that rival anything GSPro offers. If Revelyst starts offering exclusive sim courses built from GolfLogix mapping — only playable on Foresight/Bushnell hardware — the independent sim software platforms lose their biggest advantage: course library depth.

What This Says About Revelyst’s Strategy

The company is building a closed-loop golf tech platform that spans every format of the game:

  1. Home practice — Foresight GC3, GC3S, GCQuad launch monitors
  2. Home simulation — FSX Play software
  3. On-course GPS — Bushnell rangefinders, PinSeeker, and now GolfLogix mapping
  4. On-course data — Shot tracking that feeds back into the ecosystem
  5. Course library — GolfLogix’s 40,000 mapped courses as sim content

There is no other company in golf that covers all five. Trackman doesn’t do on-course GPS. Garmin doesn’t own a simulation software platform. Uneekor doesn’t make rangefinders. Only Revelyst has launch monitors, sim software, GPS, rangefinders, and course data under one umbrella.

The Foundation Play

Revelyst acquiring GolfLogix is the kind of deal that looks small on paper and turns out to be the foundation of everything they build next. 7 million app users and 40,000 mapped courses aren’t just assets — they’re distribution and data that no competitor can match.

If you’re in the market for a Bushnell Launch Pro or a Foresight GC3, this acquisition means your ecosystem is getting deeper, not shallower. The question is whether Revelyst uses that depth to make everything work better together — or to make everything else harder to use.

Given the speed of these two announcements in the same week, I’d bet on the former. But keep an eye on GSPro compatibility in the next 12 months.
