The Three Types of Sim Facilities
Before we get to the specific locations, you need to know what you’re looking for. Because “golf simulator near me” returns very different results depending on what kind of experience you want.
Demo Rooms (Free, No Booking, Try Before You Buy)
These are retail spaces where you walk in and hit balls on real launch monitors. No membership. No hourly fee. No one rushing you to finish your round. You test the gear the way you’d test a mattress — by using it.
The big one here is PGA Tour Superstore — all 82 locations now have dedicated Golf Simulator Showrooms where you can demo Bushnell, Foresight, Garmin, SkyTrak, Trackman, and Uneekor side by side. No appointment needed. You hit real balls with real clubs on real sim setups.
This is the single best way to narrow your launch monitor decision. Spend 20 minutes on a SkyTrak+. Step three feet left and hit on a GC3. Feel the difference in responsiveness, data detail, and software polish. The associates are trained on three questions: your space, your budget, and what you want to do (play courses, practice, or entertain).
The only catch: PGA Tour Superstore locations are concentrated in major metro areas. If you don’t live near one, the next best thing is a dedicated sim lounge.
Sim Lounges ($30-60/hr, Book by the Hour, Full Bar)
These are the most common type of facility opening right now. A sim lounge is basically a bar with golf simulators attached. 2-10 bays. Craft beer. Book by the hour. No consistent practice routine — just show up, hit balls, drink something, leave.
The big chains:
Five Iron Golf — 11+ locations across the US (New York, Boston, Chicago, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and expanding). Ten Trackman bays per location. Full bars. Leagues. Callaway fittings. The Norwalk, Connecticut location opens August 2026. If you live in a major city and want the premium sim lounge experience, Five Iron is the gold standard.
X-Golf — 50+ locations nationwide. More casual than Five Iron. Less focus on serious practice data, more focus on the “night out with buddies” vibe. Good for introducing friends to sim golf. Less useful as a research tool before building a home sim.
Golf Envy — Premium lounges in 10+ states. Higher-end buildouts than X-Golf, similar price point to Five Iron. Emphasis on coaching and leagues alongside the bar experience.
Back Nine — Texas-focused network of sim bars. Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth. Expanding fast. Same model as X-Golf but with a Texas spin.
Training Centers ($40-80/hr, Coach On Staff, Data-Focused)
These are closer to a driving range replacement than a bar. The equipment is higher-end. The focus is on data and improvement. You’ll find GCQuads and Trackmans here, not entry-level consumer gear.
Most are independent operations. Westside Bunker in Cincinnati went from 1,500 to 7,000 square feet in nine months — six ProTee VX bays, a recovery area with saunas and cryotherapy, and the kind of owner-operator passion that drives this market.

Northeast
Norwalk, CT — Five Iron Golf opens August 2026. 10 Trackman bays. Two bars. Callaway fittings. 8,500 square feet in the SONO 50 building at 50 Washington Street. First Five Iron in Connecticut. Hiring 40 people.
Parsippany, NJ — Topgolf’s new prototype venue. First major redesign of the Topgolf venue experience in years. Personalized bays, arcade games, rooftop terrace. Smaller footprint than a traditional Topgolf — this is their bet on the urban sim lounge model.
Multiple cities — Five Iron Golf has locations in New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington DC. If you’re in any of these cities and want a premium sim experience, this is your best bet.
Multiple cities — X-Golf has a heavy presence in the Northeast (New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts). More casual than Five Iron, more locations.
The sheer density of New Jersey activity is worth noting separately — six NJ facilities were announced in a single week, from Morristown to Jersey City, making the state ground zero for the facility boom.

Midwest
Cincinnati, OH — Westside Bunker on Glenway Avenue. Six ProTee VX bays. Sports lounge. Recovery area with saunas and cryotherapy. The expansion from 1,500 to 7,000 square feet in nine months is the best proof that indoor golf demand is real at the ground level.
Covington, KY (Cincinnati area) — Another Nine headquarters. 24/7 keycard access. Dozens of locations nationwide. The model is simple: show up, swipe in, hit balls. No staff. No bar. No frills. Just sim golf at 3 AM if you want it. The 24/7 concept is accelerating — three confirmed 24-hour facilities opened in a single month across different states.
Holland, MI (Pipestone) — Pipestone got its second facility and Holland now has three total facilities — the first saturation signal we’ve tracked. Check local listings for addresses and hours.
South

Meridian, ID — One of the seven facilities in the July 2026 boom. Independent operator in the Boise metro area. The fact that a mid-sized Idaho city got a sim facility in the same week as New Jersey and Texas tells you this market is national, not coastal.
Denver, CO — Multiple X-Golf and independent locations. Colorado’s long winters make sim golf especially popular here.
Seattle, WA — Growing sim facility market. Check for X-Golf locations and independent training centers.
How to Find a Facility in Your Specific Town
If your city isn’t listed above, here’s how to find what’s near you:
Step 1: Search the chains. Go to each chain’s website and check their location finder.

- X-Golf — 50+ locations nationwide

Step 2: Search Google. Type “indoor golf simulator [your city]” or “sim golf near me.” In 2026, you’ll get real results in most mid-sized to large cities. If your town has a PGA Tour Superstore, start there — it’s free, no pressure, and you’ll hit on 8 different launch monitors.
Step 3: Check Google Maps. Filter by “golf simulator” and look for 4+ star reviews with recent photos. A facility that’s been open less than a year will have fresh reviews showing actual sim bays.
Step 4: Ask the golf community. Reddit’s r/GolfSimulator has location-specific threads. GolfWRX has regional forums. If someone’s opened a sim lounge in your town, the golf community knows about it.
Step 5: Bookmark the boom updates. I’m tracking every facility opening as it happens — follow the series for the latest openings, closures, and trends (ten updates and counting). The most recent update tracked 20+ new facilities, a first permanent closure, and the Tampa market share battles.
What to Look For When You Visit
Not all sim facilities are created equal. Here’s what I’d check before booking a bay:
The launch monitor. What are they running? Trackman, Full Swing, and GCQuad are the premium commercial options. ProTee VX and Uneekor are the best mid-tier picks. If they’re running consumer-grade gear (SkyTrak, R10, MLM2Pro) at commercial prices, question it.
The software. GSPro, E6 Connect, Trackman’s own platform, or Full Swing’s platform. GSPro and Trackman give you the most realistic course experience. If they’re running something obscure, the course selection will be thin.
The screen and projector. Is the image crisp? Is the screen tight (no wrinkles)? Is the lighting controlled? A $50/hour sim bay with a dim projector and wrinkled screen will give you a bad impression of sim golf. Don’t judge the entire category by a poorly maintained facility.
The vibe. Are they welcoming to beginners? Do they have leagues? Is it more of a bar with sims or a practice facility with a bar? Both are valid — you just need to know which one you’re walking into.
The cost. $30-40/hr is reasonable for a basic sim lounge. $50-60/hr is premium (Trackman, full bar, high-end buildout). $20-30/hr at a 24/7 facility like Another Nine. Anything above $80/hr better include a personal coach and a private room.
The Best Reason to Visit a Sim Facility
Going to a sim lounge before building a home sim? You’ll almost certainly walk out wanting one more than when you walked in.
The experience of hitting on a real sim — the ball flight, the ground reaction, the sound of the impact screen, the data popping up after every shot — it clicks differently when you’re standing in front of it than when you’re watching a YouTube video. The guys who built home sims and never looked back? Almost all of them had their “first sim experience” at a facility or a friend’s house.
The facility boom is feeding the home sim market. More people try sim golf at a lounge → more people want it at home → more people search for how much does a golf simulator cost. It’s a pipeline.
