How It Plays on the Apogee

The Apogee’s overhead tracking works well with St Andrews because the course demands a variety of shot types. You will hit driver off the tee on the 1st with a fairway 100 yards wide. You will hit a bump-and-run on the approach to the 2nd. You will hit a long iron into the 17th with out-of-bounds on the right.

The Apogee tracks club data at 14,000 fps and calculates ball flight from club metrics. The integration with E6 means your shot shapes appear correctly. The wind affects ball flight in E6’s physics engine, which matters at St Andrews more than any other course.

The voice commands are the Apogee-specific advantage. Say “Load St Andrews,” “Set wind to 15 mph,” “Set tees to tournament.” The course loads with your preferences. You never touch a screen.

The Cost

The E6 Connect Course Library upgrade is $1,000. St Andrews is a premium add-on, typically $25. Total cost on top of the $4,995 Apogee: $1,025.

That is expensive. There is no way around it.

Pricey, but Good

St Andrews on TruGolf Apogee is premium golf at a premium price. The course plays well on E6, the Apogee hardware is excellent, and the voice commands add convenience. But the cost of entry is high.
