The SkyTrak+ is $1,495. The Uneekor EYE MINI is $1,499. If you’re shopping in this tier, you’re looking at these two. They’re the default recommendations on every forum, in every “what should I buy?” thread, from every guy who’s been through it.
Here’s the problem: the forum guys argue about these two like they’re rooting for sports teams. The real answer is quieter than that.

The Technology: Same Family, Different Generations
Both units use cameras to photograph the ball at impact. That makes both “photometric” — the category that dominates indoor simulator use because it doesn’t need 18 feet of ball-flight depth like radar units do. (We explain the camera-vs-radar difference in our camera vs radar guide.)
But the implementation is different.
SkyTrak+ uses a single high-speed camera with infrared LEDs. It reads the ball at the moment of impact — spin rate, spin axis, ball speed, launch angle, direction. Uneekor EYE MINI uses camera + infrared with a technology called Dimple Optix. Instead of needing marked balls or special stickers, it reads the dimple pattern of any standard golf ball. The shot delay difference matters more than you’d think. SkyTrak+’s 1-2 second delay isn’t terrible, but when you’re hitting rapid-fire range sessions and the EYE MINI gives you instant feedback, the SkyTrak feels slow by comparison. It’s the difference between “I hit a ball and waited” and “I hit a ball and the data was already there.”
The Software Ecosystem: SkyTrak’s Biggest Advantage
This is where SkyTrak+ still wins, and it’s not close.
SkyTrak has been around long enough to build one of the biggest third-party software ecosystems in home golf. It works with:

The community is enormous. Every problem you’ll encounter has been solved on a forum somewhere. Every software quirk has a workaround. When you buy SkyTrak+, you’re buying into an ecosystem that’s been battle-tested by thousands of users over years.
The EYE MINI works with GSPro, E6 Connect, TGC 2019, and Creative Golf 3D. That’s most of the major platforms. But the community is smaller. Uneekor is the newer player, and while their products are excellent, the troubleshooting resources aren’t as deep. If something goes wrong at 11 PM on a Tuesday, you’ll find more SkyTrak answers than Uneekor answers.
Software winner: SkyTrak+ by a mile. But EYE MINI’s compatibility covers the important ones — GSPro alone is enough for most people.

At $1,495 vs $1,499, these two are essentially the same price. Both are within $4 of each other at retail — that’s a rounding error in the launch monitor world.
The thing about CPO: SkyTrak has been running closeout pricing on the SkyTrak+ because the SkyTrak ST MAX is the new flagship. The CPO units are refurbished originals. They work, but you’re buying last-generation hardware at a discount.
The EYE MINI at $1,499 is current-generation hardware. New tech. Dimple Optix. Instant feedback. No refurbishing, no “certified pre-owned” caveat.
Value winner: EYE MINI. You’re getting newer technology for less money.
The Accuracy Question
Both units are “camera-based” and both claim high accuracy. In practice:

SkyTrak+ is accurate to within 2-3% on ball speed and carry distance for most shots. It struggles with extreme spin rates (very high or very low) and can misread shots with unusual launch conditions. The original SkyTrak was notorious for misreads in low light — the “+” improved this significantly, but it still needs good lighting.

EYE MINI uses the same core camera + infrared approach but with Dimple Optix, which reads the ball’s dimple pattern directly. This gives it a slight edge on spin accuracy, especially on partial shots and wedges where spin varies wildly. It also handles lighting variations better than SkyTrak+.
For a mid-handicap golfer practicing in a garage, you won’t notice the difference. For a low-handicap player who cares about wedge spin numbers, the EYE MINI has a slight edge.
Accuracy winner: EYE MINI, but it’s close.

The Honest Verdict
If you’d asked me a year ago, I’d have said SkyTrak+ — the ecosystem advantage was too big to overcome. But Uneekor has been closing the gap fast, and in 2026, the EYE MINI is the better buy for most new shoppers.
Here’s why: newer technology, lower price, instant feedback, better spin reading, and GSPro compatibility covers the software need. The community is smaller, but GSPro’s community is enormous, and that’s the software most EYE MINI owners use anyway.
SkyTrak+ is still the safe pick. The EYE MINI is the smart pick.
