And for simulator golfers, there is a single question that comes up more than any other: Can I play Augusta National on my simulator?
The short answer is complicated. The long answer is what this article is about.

Unlike Pebble Beach, St. Andrews, and TPC Sawgrass — all of which are readily available on multiple platforms — Augusta National exists in a category entirely of its own.

The most striking difference from any course we have covered so far: Augusta National is not officially available on a single golf simulator platform. Zero. Not one.
Why Isn’t Augusta National on Any Simulator Platform?
This is the question every sim golfer asks, and the answer reveals a lot about how Augusta National operates as an institution.
Augusta National Golf Club does not license its course to simulator platforms. Period.
Unlike Pebble Beach Resorts (which actively partners with E6, Trackman, and others), the St. Andrews Links Trust (which licenses the Old Course broadly), or the PGA Tour (which licenses TPC Sawgrass as a showcase course), Augusta National has never entered into a licensing agreement with any golf simulator company.
The club’s approach to brand and intellectual property is famously protective. Consider:
- Video games: EA Sports held the Masters license from 1998 through 2014 (Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 was the last to include Augusta). After the license expired, EA did not include Augusta National in Rory McIlroy PGA Tour (2015) or any subsequent release until 2023, when EA Sports PGA Tour returned with the Masters — but only on console/PC, not simulator platforms.

- Merchandise: Augusta National merchandise is available only at the course itself or through the club’s limited online shop. No third-party retailers.
- Simulators: No licensing agreements exist. None are known to be in negotiation.
The club’s position is simple: Augusta National is meant to be experienced in person, or through official broadcast partners. Simulator access has never been part of that vision.
Deep Dive: Augusta National on Each Platform
GSPro (The Best — and Only Real — Option)
GSPro is the only platform where you can get a genuinely high-quality Augusta National experience — but it comes with caveats.
GSPro’s ecosystem is built around community-created courses. The platform’s course design tools and LiDAR integration have produced some of the most accurate digital recreations of real golf courses ever made. At one point, a community-built Augusta National was among the most downloaded courses in GSPro.
However: GSPro’s management actively discourages distributing trademarked courses through the platform’s official CDN. If you search the GSPro course manager for “Augusta National,” you will not find it. The course has been removed from the official course library due to IP concerns.
But that is not the end of the story. Community course builders have released versions under alternate names — “Georgia National,” “Magnolia Links,” “Golf Club of the South,” or similar — that are functionally Augusta National recreations. These files are distributed through third-party channels (Discord servers, course design forums, user-to-user sharing) and can be imported into GSPro as local course files.

The critical warning: GSPro’s terms of service prohibit using the platform to play unlicensed trademarked courses. While enforcement against individual home users is essentially nonexistent, it is worth understanding that you are operating in a gray area.
TGC 2019 (The Older-School Option)
TGC 2019 has a similar community-created ecosystem, and versions of Augusta National (under alternate names) are available. The course design community on TGC was extraordinarily active, producing dozens of Augusta-inspired and Augusta-homage courses.

E6 Connect, Trackman, FSX Play, Full Swing, Golfzon
None of these platforms have Augusta National. And unlike GSPro or TGC 2019, none of them support community-created courses. Their libraries are exclusively officially licensed content. Since Augusta National does not license to anyone, it is simply not available.
There is no workaround. No sideload. No alternate name. If your simulator runs on E6, Trackman, FSX Play, Full Swing, or Golfzon, you cannot play Augusta National.
The Masters Experience: Best Alternatives
If Augusta National is not realistically playable on your simulator (and for most people, it is not), here are the best courses that capture elements of the Masters experience:

Courses That Mimic Augusta’s Layout on GSPro
GSPro’s community course library includes several original designs that are explicitly inspired by Augusta National but are not copies of it. These are legal, safe to use on any platform, and often excellent designs in their own right:
- Magnolia National — An original design that captures the tree-lined parkland feel, dramatic elevation changes, and strategic bunkering of Augusta
- Georgia Pines — A fictional Georgia layout with rolling fairways, risk-reward par-5s, and a back-nine stretch that evokes Amen Corner
- Azalea Ridge — A course built around the floral aesthetic of Augusta, with color-corrected trees and flowers that evoke the Masters visual palette
These courses are all legally available through the GSPro course manager with no sideloading or IP concerns.
What About Consoles?
This is an important distinction that often confuses sim golfers. Augusta National IS available on console/PC golf games:
- EA Sports PGA Tour (2023-present) — Includes Augusta National, the Masters tournament, and full broadcast-style presentation. Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
- PGA Tour 2K23/2K25 — Does NOT include Augusta National. 2K Sports does not hold the Masters license.
Console golf games and golf simulators are different products serving different purposes. A console game is about fun, arcade-style play with controller inputs. A golf simulator is about accurate ball-flight measurement and realistic shot simulation using actual golf clubs.
Can you connect a console golf game to a launch monitor? Yes, in a limited sense. Products like the OptiShot or certain third-party dongles allow basic swing input into console games, but the experience is not comparable to a dedicated simulator platform for accuracy or course fidelity.
The Commercial Venue Risk
If you operate a golf simulator venue, the question of Augusta National takes on a different dimension.
The risk is real. Displaying an unlicensed Augusta National course in a commercial setting — where customers pay to play — could expose your business to trademark infringement or copyright claims. Augusta National has a long history of aggressively protecting its intellectual property, including:
- Sending cease-and-desist letters to businesses using the Masters name or imagery
- Pursuing legal action against unauthorized merchandise sellers
- Controlling the use of club photography and video footage
While we are not aware of any case where Augusta National has pursued a simulator venue specifically, the risk is non-zero. Most commercial operators we interviewed for this series avoid Augusta National entirely for this reason.
Recommendation for commercial venues: Do not offer Augusta National to customers. Instead, highlight the excellent officially licensed alternatives — East Lake, Oakmont, Riviera, Pebble Beach, St. Andrews, and TPC Sawgrass are all available and provide a world-class experience without legal exposure.
How to Play Augusta National (If You Really Want To)
If you have read all of the above and still want to try playing Augusta National on your home simulator, here is the most realistic path:
- Get GSPro ($250/year) — This is the only platform where a high-quality version exists
- Find a community course file — Search GSPro Discord communities or course design forums for alternate-name versions
- Sideload the course — GSPro supports importing local course files; the process is straightforward if you are comfortable navigating file directories
- Use at your own discretion — For home, personal use, the practical risk is extremely low
Total cost: $250 (first year of GSPro) + your existing launch monitor
If you own a console, EA Sports PGA Tour ($70) on PS5 or Xbox Series X gives you Augusta National with full broadcast presentation, and you can pair it with a basic swing sensor if you want a middle-ground experience.
The Bottom Line
Augusta National is the most requested course in simulator golf — and the least available. No official version exists on any platform. Community versions exist on GSPro and TGC 2019 but require sideloading, use alternate names, and operate in an IP gray area. Commercial venues face real legal risk by offering an unlicensed Augusta National to customers.
This is unlikely to change anytime soon. Augusta National has maintained its licensing strategy for decades, and there is no indication they will alter it for the simulator market — even as that market grows toward 10 million users.
So what should you do?
If you are a home sim golfer who is technically comfortable with sideloading and understands the IP considerations, GSPro with a community course file is your best — really, your only — high-quality option. The LiDAR builds are genuinely excellent and capture the magic of Amen Corner and the back nine at Augusta better than anything else available.
If you want a risk-free, legally clean Masters-adjacent experience, play Magnolia National or Georgia Pines on GSPro, or play East Lake Golf Club on any officially licensed platform. You will get the tree-lined parkland aesthetic, the championship conditions, and the strategic shot-making that makes the Masters so compelling — without the legal gray area.
