Oakmont is a premium add-on — $25 on top of either the Core ($300/year) or Expanded ($600/year) tier. Basic tier users can’t buy it.
The pricing here is the same as Pebble Beach and St Andrews. Oakmont is in the highest tier of E6’s course pricing. Whether that’s justified depends on how much you value playing one of the most punishing courses in America from your garage.

Why Oakmont Works on E6 Specifically
Oakmont is a course of unique features, and E6’s professional scanning captures them accurately.
The Church Pews bunker is the headline. It’s a 100-yard-long bunker between the 3rd and 4th holes with parallel grass ridges that look like church pews. The ridges are about 10 feet apart, each one a steep grass mound. If you land in it, you’re hitting off a slope, between ridges, with no stance and no clear shot. E6’s version renders the ridges correctly. It’s not a texture. It’s actual elevation data. You’ll hit into it, try to escape, fail, and understand why the Church Pews is the most famous bunker in America.
The greens are the other story. Oakmont’s greens are the fastest in golf. Fescue, mown tight, running at speeds that make most greens look like putting mats. E6’s green physics handle the extreme speed. Putts that look straight will break 6 feet. Putts that look downhill will run 10 feet past. You’ll three-putt from 20 feet. You’ll do it multiple times.
The course also has 200+ bunkers. They’re everywhere. E6’s rendering places them accurately. You can see them from the tee. You know where they are. You’ll hit into them anyway.

There’s only one official Oakmont on E6. You can’t pick the wrong version.
What It Actually Looks Like
E6’s Oakmont is dark and serious. The course is lined with towering oak trees, blacktop paths, and red brick buildings. It looks like a private club that doesn’t want you there. E6’s rendering captures the atmosphere.
The 1st hole: A 480-yard par 4 from the member tees. The fairway is narrow. The bunkers are visible from the tee. On E6, the first tee shot feels like an announcement: this course is going to hurt.
The 3rd hole: The Church Pews bunker runs along the right side of the fairway. On E6, you can see the grass ridges from the tee. You’ll aim left. You’ll miss left. You’ll be in the rough. That’s better than the Church Pews.
The 18th hole: One of the best finishing holes in golf. 485 yards, uphill, with bunkers on both sides and a green that’s tilted back to front. On E6, the uphill approach looks longer than it is. You’ll hit a good shot and come up short. The green slopes away. You’ll three-putt. That’s Oakmont.
The Holes That Shine on Sim
Hole 8 — The short par 3: 260 yards from the tips. Yes, 260-yard par 3. On E6, the scale is correct. You’ll hit a fairway wood and hope. The green is protected by bunkers on both sides. Par is a great score.
Hole 15 — The par 4 with the stadium green: The green is elevated and surrounded by bunkers. On E6, the approach looks intimidating. The green is small. The bunkers are deep. You’ll miss the green. You’ll get up and down for par. You’ll feel like a hero.
Hole 17 — The par 4 with the church: The Oakmont church spire is visible behind the green. On E6, it’s there. The approach is to a green that’s one of the more forgiving on the course. You’ll make par. You’ll need it before 18 destroys you.
What I’d Change
The atmosphere could be darker. Oakmont’s vibe is angry private club, and E6’s rendering is a little too clean. The course should feel like it’s judging you. E6’s version is accurate but lacks that intangible “I don’t belong here” feeling. That’s a vibes complaint, not a technical one.
Is It Worth $25?
If you’re the type of golfer who wants to play the hardest courses on the platform, yes. Oakmont is the hardest course on E6, and the $25 premium is the price of admission to a U.S. Open experience.
If you’re looking for fun rounds with friends, Oakmont is not that. It’s a punishment simulator. You’ll shoot 90 and feel like you played well. That’s not a joke. The course is that hard.
The $25 starts to make sense when you consider that Oakmont is the rare course where the sim version is almost as hard as the real thing. The greens are the fastest in golf on both. The bunkers are deadly on both. The closing stretch breaks hearts on both. The only difference is you don’t have to drive to Pennsylvania.
