Uneekor Launches Its First Global Online Tournament
The Simulator Golf Tour has been running online tournaments for years. GSPro has its community events. SGT has its league structure. But until now, the hardware manufacturers have mostly stayed out of it. The launch monitor brands sell you the tools and let the community figure out the competition piece.
Uneekor just changed that.
On July 29, Uneekor announced the Uneekor Invitational — the company’s first-ever global online tournament, built in partnership with GSPro and SGT. It’s open exclusively to Uneekor launch monitor owners, runs from August 17 to September 4, and pays real money to the winners.
The Format
The tournament has two phases. Qualifying Week runs August 17 through August 24. Players log into GSPro, fire up the designated course, and complete two rounds at their own pace. The course is called The Old Game — a brand new design from Carl’s Place, the enclosure and hitting-bay company that’s been expanding into course design.
Ball speed determines which division you land in for Championship Week. This is an interesting choice. Most online tournaments bracket by handicap. Uneekor is using ball speed instead, which effectively groups players by swing speed rather than scoring ability. The high-speed division gets the bombers. The middle division gets the solid club golfers. The low-speed division gets the slower-swing players. It’s an attempt to create fair competition without relying on self-reported handicaps, which are notoriously unreliable in online sim tournaments.
Championship Week runs August 28 to September 4 on The Wilds Golf Club course. Three divisions, one winner per division. First place gets up to $2,500 in gift cards to PGA Superstore or Scheels. Second gets $1,250. Third gets $750.
The Sponsors
Uneekor partnered with four brands to power closest-to-the-pin contests throughout the tournament: Vice Golf, YETI, Evnroll Putters, and Avoda Golf. Each brand gets a sponsored hole during virtual play, and players compete for prizes beyond the leaderboard. That’s a smart structure. CTTP contests keep players engaged even when they’re not in contention for the overall title, and brand sponsorship makes the prize pool bigger without Uneekor having to write all the checks.
What It Takes to Enter
You need three things:
- Any Uneekor launch monitor (EYE XR, EYE XO, EYE XO2, EYE MINI, EYE MINI Lite — any of them)
- An active GSPro license ($250/year)
- The Uneekor Pro Package ($199/year)
If you don’t have the Pro Package, Uneekor is offering a complimentary one-month trial. Email support@uneekor.com and they’ll set you up. GSPro is not included in the trial — you need to own that separately.
The requirement to have the Pro Package is worth noting. The Pro Package is Uneekor’s mid-tier subscription that unlocks third-party software integration (GSPro, E6, etc.) and adds cloud storage for session history. If you’re a Uneekor owner who doesn’t subscribe to Pro — maybe you use the free Player tier and the native GAME DAY software — you need to either subscribe for $199/year or use the one-month trial. The trial timing is convenient: it covers the entire tournament window.
Why This Matters
This is the first time Uneekor has organized a community tournament for its hardware owners. That’s significant for a few reasons.
First, it signals that Uneekor sees its user base as large enough to support an official competition. The company has grown fast over the last two years — from a niche overhead-monitor brand to one of the top three names in home sim hardware. The EYE XR hit a price point ($6,000 range) that made overhead tracking accessible to serious home builders. The EYE MINI Lite opened up the sub-$3,500 category. Uneekor now has enough units in the wild to justify a global tournament.
Second, the partnership with GSPro and SGT gives the tournament real legitimacy in the sim community. GSPro is the dominant simulation software for home users. SGT has been running online sim tournaments for years and brings the operational framework. This isn’t Uneekor trying to build its own tournament infrastructure from scratch — they’re plugging into what already works.
Third, the prize structure is meaningful. $2,500 in gift cards per division doesn’t change anyone’s life, but it’s enough to make the competition real. The sponsored CTTP contests add depth. This feels like a proof of concept for what could become a recurring event with bigger prize pools.
The SGT Connection
Simulator Golf Tour (SGT) has been running weekly tournaments on GSPro since 2023. They have a tested format, a player base, and the infrastructure for handicap validation, tee box assignments, and leaderboard management. Uneekor is essentially licensing that infrastructure and branding it for their hardware.
That’s smart. Building a tournament platform from scratch is hard. SGT already solved the hard problems. Uneekor brings the prize pool, the marketing, and the hardware exclusivity. SGT brings the operational playbook. The Uneekor Invitational is a co-branded event, not a Uneekor-owned platform, and that’s the right approach for a first attempt.
Should You Play?
If you own Uneekor hardware and you already have GSPro, there’s no reason not to register. The course is a new Carl’s Place design — worth playing on its own merits. The CTTP contests give you something to chase even if you’re not going to win the division. And the one-month Pro trial eliminates the only potential barrier.
If you’re on the fence about buying Uneekor hardware, this tournament is a gentle nudge. The company is signaling that it’s investing in community, not just selling boxes. The Invitational won’t be the deciding factor for most buyers, but it’s a nice cherry on top if you’re comparing Uneekor against Foresight or SkyTrak.
